Wings Academy is operated by Henry-Stark Counties Special Education School District #801. It is a specialized public school serving students with significant learning, communication, sensory, and social-emotional needs. Using individualized, evidence-based practices, we focus on building independence, communication, and life skills. Every student is supported in a safe, structured environment where they are valued, understood, and empowered to grow.

🐝 Why the Bee? Why Wings?

For years, scientists believed the bumblebee should not be able to fly. By conventional calculations, its body was too heavy and its wings too small yet the bumblebee flies anyway.

This idea reflects what we believe at Wings Academy. Our students are often underestimated and defined by challenges rather than potential. With the right support, patience, and belief, they achieve what once seemed impossible.

“Wings” represents growth, independence, and forward movement. At Wings Academy, each student’s journey is honored with the structure, care, and encouragement needed to build confidence and strength empowering them to spread their wings in their own time and in their own way.
